It’s not everyday that you share a leisurely meal with the beauty of the lucid lake in front of you. My next stop in Huaz Khas Village was Mia Bella with the best view in the city (that is, if you manage to get hold of one of those tables facing the lake). Like Smoke House Deli, Mia Bella too has launched its new Braai menu, that is in essence a gastronomic journey to the barbeques of the world.
And there is quite a bit on offer like Boerewors, also known as Farmer Sausages from South Africa (grilled spices and herbs infused sausages, served with fries), Sosaties from South Africa (chunks of chicken marinated over night in fried onions, chillies, garlic, curry leaves and tamarind juice; cooked on skewers), Jamaican Jerk Chicken, a Caribbean speciality (chicken on bone, rubbed with Jamaican dry spices, roasted and served with fried raw bananas, carrots and green beans), Chicken Souvlaki, a Mediterranean delight (Greek-style strips of chicken, cooked in Mediterranean spices, wrapped in pita bread, served with tzatziki, and fried potato wedges), Chicken Pinchitos, a Spanish delicacy (barbecued chicken chunks marinated in saffron, herbed vinegar and red pepper mixture, cooked on skewers, served with lemon wedges and cilantro), Chicken Shashlyk, a Polish dish (large cubes of chicken/mutton, marinated in vinegar and herbs, served on a bed of salad), Basil Pesto Chicken (grilled chicken with traditional Basil Pesto Sauce, served with leaf salad in vinaigrette dressing), Beer Chicken (chicken marinated in Beer, grilled with Garlic Vinegar and herbs, served with leaf salad in vinaigrette dressing), Mint Mutton Shank (sliced Mutton Shank marinated with mint sauce, grilled and served with Baton Salad) and more. “We have put barbeques of different varieties from virtually every country. They are reasonably priced and served with accompaniments that go best with them,” says chef Jha.
Our recommendations include Peri Peri Chicken from South Africa (spicy chicken grilled with Bird’s Eye Chilly Sauce), and Mongolian Bar-be-que Mushrooms (assorted cuts of mushrooms and vegetables cooked on griddle and served hot) for the vegetarians.
