Shiv Karan Singh, Smokey’s BBQ and Grill

There is no smoke without a fire and you will find the best of both at Smokey’s BBQ and Grill at Greater Kailash II in Delhi. The legendary Smoke House Grill, rechristened Smokey’s, has lost out on a few letters but has added up on both food and ambience quotient. Says owner Shiv Karan Singh, “Smokey’s is more than a restaurant; it’s an activity space where people can engage and have a great time without pinching the pockets.”

Inspired by the barbeque eateries of Midwestern America, Smokey’s’s two floors are made of wood and brick, but with colour and artwork that gives it a contemporary feel. Cocktails—smoked made by smoking fresh fruit, aged by using liquor aged with spices and molecular are all part of the drinks menu at Somkey’s.

Shiv’s previous contributions to the capital’s culinary scene include starting Smoke House Deli, Smoke House Grill and as a director of the Mocha chain. “My connection with the capital is very passionate. I have tasted the knicks and knacks of life and have chosen to be in the hospitality industry. I find Delhi full of surprises, anything and everything is possible. You never know what is coming your way and when. But there are a few things I don’t like—first, the traffic and secondly, the unpredictable weather.” In the city that parties till dawn, Shiv wishes nightlife timings in Delhi could be extended.
