City Gets a Taste of Chettinad

The guests were treated to exquisite Chettinad food in a sit-down dinner, served in traditional Chettinad style.

Sumeet Nair and Meenakshi Meyyappan launched their book The Bangala Table: Flavours and Recipes from Chettinad at an event hosted by The Park Hotel, New Delhi on Tuesday evening. The book consists of 150 vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes, supported by beautiful photographs by Rohit Chawla. The Bangala Table is based on recipes from the Bangala, a boutique luxury hotel in Karaikudi in the heart of Chettinad, owned by the renowned Chettiar MSMM family.

Present at the event were people from the fashion fraternity, industrialists and media honchos. We spotted Sal and Tarun Tahiliani, Ashish Soni, Rohit Gandhi, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Dr Sameer Kaul, Pia Singh, Rajshree Pathy, Feroz Gujral, Priya Paul, Navin and Rupika Chawla, Pallam Raju, Mini Shastri, Bharti Kher, Bim Bissel, Dilip and Devi Cherian, Jivi Sethi, Rahul Jacob and Vikram Chandra.  The Bangala Table was launched by MV Subbiah, former chairman of Murugappa Group, and Priya Paul, chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels Ltd.
