As the title of the collection states, Rohit Bal’s ensembles were the epitome of brightest blooms of India’s imperial heritage.

It is Fashion Week time again and Rohit Bal is the coveted grand finale designer for the upcoming Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2015. Atul Chand, the CEO of ITC’s Lifestyle Retail Division, and FDCI President Sunil Sethi hosted a glimpse of Bal’s ‘Gulbagh’ collection that will be the finale show.

As the title of the collection states, Bal’s ensembles were the epitome of brightest blooms of India’s imperial heritage. He presented flowing long skirts contrasted with very constructed and fitted tops. A resplendent white quilted skirt was paired with a Kutch style top in maroon velvet. A huge rose embroidered on the skirt added magic to the look. Short sherwanis for men were a fresh innovation. Gulbagh was definitely regal yet very minimal—a tough combination indeed.

Chand was excited that a signature line, Bal’s Gulbagh collection, will be retailed exclusively from the Wills Lifestyle stores and Sethi kept us all in suspense by saying Bal’s finale show will be an off-site at a magical venue.
