Designer Varun Bahl launched his bespoke luxury wedding design company, Aurum, at the magnificent couture show he did. Aurum is partnered by Bahl’s brother Vivek, and Arjun Jain. The designer’s off-site show was the epitome of grandeur. It had a long white ramp lined with red roses and chandeliers overhead. A sit-down dinner arrangement with private bars alongside the ramp made watching the show a treat. The collection comprising sari lehengas, sari gowns and pant-suits adorned with intricate embroidery were a feast for the eyes.

Rohit Bal once again proved that he is the undisputed king of couture in India. His off-site show at the Imperial Hotel had mind-boggling creations. Bal’s flowing silhouettes are unparallel and on them the beautiful embroidery inspired from various art forms like Madhubani from Bihar made the ensembles bloom. The ensembles accessorised with scarves depicting bunch of white roses added lot of zing. The birds were the dominant motif that prevailed over the collection and the embroidered churidaar over plain sherwanis for men were fresh. All in all, Bal floored us with his flowing floor-duster silhouettes.
