An Israeli award-winning lifestyle photographer and documentary maker Sephi Bergerson launched his latest coffee-table book, Behind the Indian Veil, that chronicles the wedding traditions of India, its grandeur and lavishness. The book was launched at the Olive Qutub by parliamentarian, Shashi Tharoor.

Bergerson has been capturing pictures for 30 years now and has relocated to India. His first book, Street Food of India, received international acclaim, including the Best Cookbook Photography 2010 award in the UK, a nomination for Best in the World at the prestigious Gourmand Awards in Paris, and was a favourite in The New York Times top ten best cookbooks of 2010.

The launch party at the Olive saw the capital’s literary minds enjoying some exotic food over cocktails and chit-chatted about the fattening of the Indian wedding milieu. Seen at the bash were JJ Valaya, Poonam Bhagat, Yasmin Kidwai, Sonam Dubal, Ratan Kaul and Shefi Carmi Bergerson, Sephi’s wife.
