SANGAREDDY: The Telangana government’s initiative to fight corruption, Mee Seva Centres, has become agents of corruptions.

P Sambaiah (name changed) of Sangareddy mandal applied for a pattadar passbook at the centre a month ago. He paid the fee and was hopeful that the passbook will be delivered on time.

“I am yet to receive my passbook even after a month,” he said. When he asked the Mee Seva centre managers, they asked him to contact revenue officials. Revenue officials assured him that they would send the passbooks to Mee Seva centres. He had to pay an additional amount to the officials.

There have been allegations that Mee Seva managers were acting as agents to officials of department. Applicants who visit the Mee Seva centers are also told that if they want their certificates soon they would have to pay extra amount.
