THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: To showcase its strength in agro-processing sector and to develop linkages with the industry and policy makers, CSIR-NIIST will organise a one-day workshop on ‘Prospects in Agro-processing’ on its campus here on Tuesday.

The participants are industry representatives, government agencies, regulatory bodies, scientists, technologists and potential entrepreneurs. The workshop will be inaugurated by Biju Prabhakar, director, Directorate of Agriculture. NIIST director A Ajayaghosh will preside over the function.

CSIR-NIIST is a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in Kerala. The institute is working on value-addition to regional resources such as  minerals, agro and plantation products.
 Over the years the institute contributed significantly in process and technology development, knowledge generation and human resources development.
The institute is well-known nationally and internationally for its scientific contributions.
