THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) is the largest non-profit organisation to conduct the seventh edition of Kerala’s largest conference on entrepreneurship, ‘TiEcon Kerala 2018’. TiE focuses on fostering entrepreneurship and nurturing entrepreneurs through five core activities classified as mentoring, networking, education, incubating and funding called ‘five pillars of TiE’.

The prime focus of the conference would be to entice a large number of entrepreneurs, industry leaders and decision-makers to engage in the challenging task of rebuilding the state. Primarily the effort is to enable Public-Private participation. According to the organisers, the conference would bring together the most influential leaders and their innovative products under one roof and thereby up-grade technologies to rebuild infrastructure, roads, houses, communication systems and weather-disaster warning systems.
Participation is expected from industry experts, decision-makers, start-up entrepreneurs, and social-student entrepreneurs across the world.

There will be forty sessions in parallel tracks where a hundred speakers from India and abroad will speak. Other than seminars and panel discussions, there will be a special session held to escalate entrepreneurship and latest digital transformation trends. This will include cognitive computing and artificial intelligence, big data and IOT, block chain and fin-tech, electric vehicles and future mobility, future medicine and digital disruption, cyber security and space technology.  While focusing on the topic ‘Rebuild Kerala- Leveraging Entrepreneurship and Emerging Technologies’ the conference also proposes ‘The Rebuild Kerala Ideation Competition’.

The competition provides an opportunity for participants from B-schools to put forward their ideas and innovative thoughts towards rebuilding Kerala. Another highlight of the event wherein startups will get a space to display their products-prototypes, services and solutions. They would also get a live demo of K-SWIFT, an initiative of the government of Kerala which helps in single window clearance for the ease of business purposes. Regional pitch fests were conducted in the initial stage to select the twenty finalists from different regions who would pitch at the TiE conference Kerala 2018. ‘TiEcon Kerala 2018’ will be held on November 16 and 17 at Le Meridian Convention Centre, Kochi. ‘TiEcon Kerala 2018 Annual Awards’ for four categories will be announced at the event.
