Tea estate workers of Manjolai Hills who opted for VRS grapple with uncertain future

The Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Limited which operates the estate, initiated a voluntary retirement scheme on May 30. This move comes as the estate's 99-year lease approaches its end in 2028. The workers who opted for voluntary retirement were asked to vacate their quarters by August 7.
