Tamil Nadu observes first full Sunday lockdown as fresh Covid 19 cases cross 10,000 mark

On January 9, 2022, Tamil Nadu observed the first of a series of full lockdowns to be observed every Sunday, in the wake of the surge in Covid-19 cases and the spread of the Omicron variant. Essential services that are permitted during the full lockdown include milk booths, ATMs, hospitals, hospital-related works, goods transportation, and petrol bunks.
