India’s first underwater metro begins its journey in Kolkata

The first-ever underwater metro in India was flagged off in Kolkata on March 6. Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the 4.8-km stretch Howrah Maidan-Esplanade section underwater metro line of Kolkata Metro's East-West corridor, which was built at a cost of Rs. 4,960 crores.
