Jharkhand gets highest number of women MLAs in history of state

A record number of women will enter the sixth Jharkhand assembly in 2024. Twelve of the 26 women candidates fielded by the INDIA bloc and NDA have won. They constitute 14.58% of the 81-member legislative assembly in the northern state. Five of the women MLAs are from the Congress, four from the BJP and three from the JMM.
