Renowned Telangana poet, lyricist, revolutionary Ande Sri dies at 64

Telangana poet and lyricist, Ande Sri, who is inseparable from Telugu literature and the Telangana movement, died due to sudden illness on November 10.

His song 'Maayamaipothunnadamma' made him a household name during the statehood struggle.

He was also conferred a doctorate degree by Kakatiya University. The Telangana government awarded Ande Sri with ₹1 crore in recognition of his contribution. His song 'Jaya Jayahe Telangana' is the national song of the state
