India surpasses China to become world's most populous nation: UN data
India has overtaken China as the world’s most populous nation, according to UN data. India’s population surpassed 1.4286 billion, slightly higher than China’s 1.4257 billion people. By 2025, India's population is said to touch 1.668 billion while China's population is said to contract to 1.317 billion.
