KABUL: The Taliban militants reportedly have attacked the Salang Pass, a key tunnel that connects Kabul city with Afghanistan’s northern provinces.

The militants launched the attack on northern part of Salang by targeting a vehicle of the security personnel, reports the Khaama Press.

So far, there are no reports of casualties, and only of a gun battle being underway in the area.

This is the second time that the Taliban militants have launched an attack on Salang Pass in the past two months.

The previous attack was launched on security check posts in July this year.

The attack was repulsed by the Afghan security forces then.
