An earthquake measuring 4.7 magnitudes on the Richter scale hit Gilgit and surrounding areas late Wednesday night, Geo News reported.

GILGIT (PAKISTAN): An earthquake measuring 4.7 magnitudes on the Richter scale hit Gilgit and surrounding areas late Wednesday night, Geo News reported.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that its depth was registered at 15 kilometres.

The department also mentioned that the earthquake's epicenter was 37 kilometers southwest of Skardu.
 
No loss of life or property has been reported yet.
