HARARE: Zimbabwe's army chief called in a televised statement Monday for the public to remain "calm and patient" while the political crisis engulfing the nation is resolved.

"The Zimbabwean Defence and Security Services further urge Zimbabweans to remain calm and patient" while a "solution and road map is found for the country", said army chief general Constantino Chiwenga.
