BANGALORE: The annual budget of the Bangalore Rural zilla panchayat specially focuses on education, health, women and child welfare and water supply.
Presented by ZP president Tiuvaranga Narayanswamy on Monday, the budget has an outlay of `381.03 crore, which is Rs 45.34 crore more than the last year’s.
The funds will be spent on development projects taken up by 34 departments under the zilla panchayat which covers Nelmangala, Doddballapur, Devanahalli and Hoskote taluks. As much as Rs 38.34 crore has been allocated for education.
“Funds under the National Rural Drinking Water Programme can also be utilised (by the ZP) for drinking water supply projects. Under the scheme, we now have Rs 42 crore,” he said.
The budget also includes allocations for individual beneficiary schemes under various departments like agriculture and animal husbandry.
ZP Chief Executive Officer E Krishnappa, vice-president Hanumanthe Gowda, and other panchayat members were present during the budget presentation.
