In an eyeopening certificate verification drive underway at the Annamalai University, many certificates of the teaching and non-teaching staff have been found to be fake, according to sources.

Government-appointed administrator Shiv Das Meena has been taking various steps to give a new lease of life to the university. In this situation, the university officers grew suspicious over the authenticity of certificates of the staff.

The officers have collected copies of the certificates from the staffers and had been sent to the respective educational institutions to confirm their genuineness. They have also launched probe into various aspects in this issue. A list of employees, with forged certificates, is being prepared by the officers.
