Rs 1,200 cr as incentives for MSMEs

TIRUPATI: The Andhra Pradesh government is going to release ` 1200 crore at the earliest, enabling its departments to clear subsidies, payments and other incentives for micro, small, medium and large scale industries across the state, Chief Secretary SP Tucker said.
The government conducted a conference on accelerating industrial growth in southern districts of Andhra Pradesh on Friday at Grand Ritz Hotel in Tirupati in collaboration with the CII, which was attended by industrialists in Rayalaseema and Nellore districts.
In the day-long session, Tucker interacted with industrialists and several decisions were taken on the spot. The chief secretary made it clear that lethargy among officials will not be tolerated and asked them to get their act straight. Leading by example, Tucker contacted Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, when an issue pertaining to powerlooms in Nagari was brought to his notice and took necessary action.
Taking note that some of the bills are pending as long as five years, he assured the industrialists that clearance of dues will be give highest priority.
