GUNTUR: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for BR Shetty Medical City and Research Centre at Dondapadu on Thursday. The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the Chief Minister’s programme.BRS Ventures and Holdings Pvt Limited has proposed to invest $1.8 billion in Andhra Pradesh in healthcare, tourism, hospitality, infrastructure and education sectors. It has proposed to set up a medical university with an investment of `1,150 crore with an intake of 800 students.

Dental and pharmacy colleges and a super speciality hospital with an outlay of `1,500 crore are also part of the project. As part of the MoU reached with the State government, it will also set up a   pharmaceutical manufacturing unit with an outlay of `500 crore. The proposed Knowledge Process Outsourcing Centre will provide direct employment to about 5,000 people. It is also planning to set up stem cell research, analytics and quantum centres with an outlay of `300 crore. International Baccalaureate School, Naturopathy and Yoga Centre, 3-star hotel and service apartments and residential accommodation to its employees are the other initiatives of the BRS Ventures.
