Yamaha has added two new colors for its most affordable YZF sports bike, R15 Version 2.0. Now available in GP Blue liveries and Streaking Cyan, the price tag is increased by a few hundred bugs. Hence, the price tag of Yamaha YZF R15 Version 2.0 is Rs. 1.17 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi), which seems legit.
Yamaha has kept the Streaking Cyan as a special edition of R15 Version 2.0 that looks fantastic with the Cyan graphics on Black body while displaying 'R15' and 'Special Edition' decals. On the other hand, the GP Blue livery is inspired from the track module, Yamaha YZR M1, which shows off a new ‘R15’ logo and refreshed decals.
Technically, the bike remains the same throughout, it still houses a 149.8cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve engine that incorporates Fuel Injection. The motor is mated to a 6-speed transmission and is designed to generate a maximum power of 16.8bhp with a peak torque of 15Nm. With genuine fuel consumption, the machine performs frantically as it sprints from 0-60kmph in around 5 seconds. Touching a top speed mark of above 130kmph, the bike reaches 100kmph in 13 seconds only.
Yamaha YZF R15 Version 2.0 is bolted on a deltabox frame for superior rigidity balance. The suspension kit comprises of telescopic forks at the front and Linked type Monocross at the rear. The tyres linked to the frame are 90/80-17 front and 130/70-R17 rear. Besides housing stylish two by two 5-spoke alloy wheels, the braking is done with a hydraulic disc at the front and 220mm disc at the rear.
Moreover, Yamaha YZF R15 Version 2.0 remains an attention with the equipment of split seats, full-fairing, twin headlamps, highly aerodynamic aesthetics, designer rear mud guard, LED tail light, soothing muffler, analog plus digital instrument panel, etc. The kerb weight of just 136kg keeps the throttle response of the bike highly responsive which makes the acceleration real quick.
One can also select, Yamaha YZF R15 version 2.0 in Raring Red, Invincible Black, Racing Blue and Grid Gold in the price range of Rs. 1.14 lac to 1.17 lac.
