BENGALURU : Get set for the annual Children's Writer's Festival where over 200 students will receive one-on-one mentorship from six prominent and award-winning writers, illustrators and theatre practitioners – Vikram Sridhar, Sharoon Sunny, Sourabha Rao, Nisha Abdulla, Andaleeb Wajid, Lavanya Prasad – who will mentor them on various aspects of story creation such as the art of digging out stories from ordinary and mundane events, exploring the creative elements in a story and how written text, images, sounds and films serve as elements of stories.
The workshop strives to equip children with all the tools one needs to know for effective storytelling. Despite that the storytelling has solid roots in the city, it is observed that the focus has mostly been on telling stories to children and not on guiding them to pen down their stories. Through this workshop, children will be helped to transcend their imagination into a positive action of expressing their feelings. It will be held at GEAR Foundation, Off Sarjapur Road on November 18, 19 from 8 am to 2.30 pm.
