Is Chandni Chowk To China your biography? That’s not true. The only thing that is similar between my character in the film and me is that we are both cooks. In fact, I am not even a cook, I play a halwai, a part no actor has played before! What excites you most about the film? The fact that it is the first time that a Hindi film has been shot on the Great Wall of China.

What else? That it is an out-and-out action film. It’s the action scenes which move the film forward! What is the story of CCTC? It is the story of an Indian chef who is mistaken for a martialart- teacher in China and the confusion that follows.
What was the training for the action-scenes like? It wasn’t easy! It was the first time that I trained in Kung-Fu and that too with Gordon Lieu.
He’s the international star who introduced Kung-Fu to the big screen and he’s the best! I have seen his The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin 52 times! Wh i c h was the m o s t challenging action scene in the film? I think the scene in which I had to carry Deepika Padukone on my forearms was the most challenging.

Wo u l d n’ t yo u h ave preferred that the film premiered in Mumbai instead of Los Angeles? The film is presented by Warner Brothers and their base is Los Angeles. If they were based in Nepal we would have had the premiere there! To what do you attribute your success? People like Shah Rukh Khan and I have no forefathers in the industry. We made it due to our hard work and the blessings of our parents. And let me add if we can do it anybody can! What made you do a voiceover for Jumbo? It was for my son Aarav, who loved the film!
