BANGALORE:  Dr T Ramasami, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and Dr V Prakash, Distinguished Scientist and M N Vidya Shankar, Principal Secretary, Department of IT, BT and S&T gave away the Bio-Excellence awards at Bangalore India Bio 2012.

 Serum Institute of India won the award for the category of Biopharma and Healthcare, Mahyco for the Bioagri category, PRAJ Industries for Bioindustrial category and Ocimum Biosolutions for the category of Bioinformatics and Systems Biology.
