BANGALORE: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) along with Cranfield University, UK, conducted Graduation Day at the Ghatge Convention Centre on Thursday.

The programme was attended by Paul Reid, Deputy Head of Mission, British Deputy High Commission, Bangalore, Prof Riti Singh, Emeritus Professor of Cranfield University, HAL Chariman (Offg) P V Deshmuk among others.

Paul Reid distributed graduation certificates to 17 officers of the 2011 batch.

A two-day conference on ‘Technological challenges in aerospace industry for current and future programmes of HAL’ was also held as a part of the programme wherein Cranfield graduates presented papers.

In his address, Deshmukh expressed his desire to collaborate with more reputed institutions and work together in the journey to transform HAL into a globally competitive company.

In a separate release, HAL claimed that under the CSR bracket, its MRO Division in Bangalore distributed bags and study materials worth `3.5 lakh to a government school in Anekal taluk on Tuesday.

MRO division chief V Sadagopan distributed the material to 600 students of Sabmangala, Kuvemupunagar, Gerigitinabele and Samandur villages
