Valliammal Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar, celebrated its 44th Annual Day on January 24. Chairman A P Manikandan and school advisor Dr Valavan graced the occasion. Meritorious and State rank holders of Classes 10 and 12 and their teachers were felicitated. Geetha Ramasubramanian, principal, presented the annual report. School pupil leader C Monisha welcomed the guests and the audience.
Cultural events based on the theme ‘Nature – the Gift of God’ were performed by the students. Senior students performed Krishna Leela, a dance-drama and the tiny tots presented a dance depicting various flowers. The school choir rendered a classical song on Mother India.
Subramaniam Rangaswami, vice chanceller of Sri Ramachandra Medical University, released the school magazine Sparkle. Initha, deputy commissioner, MEPZ-SEZ, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, gave the medals and prizes to the school toppers.
