Girlfriend held for man's murder

The HSR Layout police arrested one Shwetha, the girlfriend of an employee with a telecom service provider, who was murdered a few days ago, for the crime. Four others were also arrested in the case.

The police had questioned many since August 21, the day of Shivashankara Reddy’s murder.

The arrested are Ramachandra (23), who was to marry Shwetha, her brother Ganesh (20), the auto driver Kiran(20), and Shwetha and Ramachandra’s friend, Shiva (23).

It is being said that the group attacked and kidnapped Reddy while he was talking to Shwetha near the BDA complex in HSR Layout. Police said Reddy from Jakkasandra was in love with Shwetha. Reddy used to call and message Shwetha repeatedly. Ganesh and Ramachandra came to know about the phone calls and asked Shwetha to call Reddy near BDA complex and kidnapped him.

Later, they took him near Hosapalya in ITI Layout out and beat him. Reddy escaped and reached Jakkasandra. His friend, who saw him on the road shifted him to the hospital, but he died due to severe bleeding, police said.

Drunk Man Kills Self

A man committed suicide after his wife allegedly complained to the police regarding his alcohol habits.

The deceased has been identified as Siddaraju, 38. He hanged himself from the ceiling fan. Siddaraju was an autorickshaw driver. He used to drink every day and beat his wife and mother. His wife went to the Basaweshwarnagar police and asked them to guide Siddaraju to give up alcohol. Police told him not to drink and torture his family. Humiliated, Siddaraju, took this extreme step.

Two Die

A 20-year-old man working in a water cleaning company died after his bike was hit by a tractor. In another incident, 50 year-old Maariraju died after an unidentified vehicle hit him while he was standing beside the OM Road in the Indiranagar police station limits.
