Cops Stop Filming of Bettanagere

Express News Service

BANGALORE: Nelamangala police on Saturday asked the crew of movie Bettanagere to stop filming at Mohan Studios. The film is based on notorious rowdies Bettanagere Seena and Shankara. The crew allegedly did not take permission from the police for the shoot.

It is said former cricketer Vinod Kambli,  Sumanth Shailendra Babu and Akshay have been roped in for the movie.

Seena, killed in a police encounter in 2012, was implicated in several murders, including that of JD(S) leader BEML Krishnappa.

“The director Mohan Gowda is a close relative of the Betthanagere cousins, but he did not take permission to shoot around Nelamangala. We can’t allow them to shoot without police protection as rivals of the rowdies might trouble the crew. We have asked them to follow legal procedures, along with our protection,” a police officer said.
