A Challenge to Sit Through Savaal

After a series of commercial disasters, Dynamic Prince, Prajwal Devaraj was badly in need of a hit. But with Savaal, his fate in Sandalwood now seems to hang by a thread. Supposed to be an action extravaganza, the film falls flat with nothing going for it.

A Sharadhaa

After a series of commercial disasters, Dynamic Prince, Prajwal Devaraj was badly in need of a hit. But with Savaal, his fate in Sandalwood now seems to hang by a thread. Supposed to be an action extravaganza, the film falls flat with nothing going for it.

Savaal revolves young lawyer Arjun (Prajwal Devaraj) who is determined to curb down corruption as he takes on the judicial system. The one-man demolition squad, Arjun chases the bad guys, Dhanaraj and team.  As a crusader of law and order, he collects as much evidence, before he can nail the baddies.

Arjun who was separated from his family at a young age after an accident is glad to be reunited with his father and sister.  The story unfolds further when his sister reveals the actual reason behind the accident.

Director Dhananjay fails miserably with his story, screenplay and direction and comes across as amateurish. The film, which is largely set in court room really has no logic.

It manages one thing perfectly -  to demolish Prajwal’s dynamism tag.

The actor is mostly seen holding a pistol and flexing his muscle power and punching the bad guys. In the 119 minutes of the film, you get to see a display of tossing, swirling and bending action sequences with stuntmen seen beaten to pulp by the hero. Shona, the heroine, is the only bright spot in the film.

And, the support cast fails too, including Sadhu Kokila and Bullet Prakash.

Nothing worthy of mentioning about V Manohar’s music nor PKH Doss’ work as a cameraperson.

The Verdict: Savaal is a total let down with a paper-thin plot. Skip it.
