V V PURAM: If someone were to ask you if you’d like to have CAD (M) or CAD (B), you’d probably shoo him off saying you’re quite healthy and need no medication. The two abbreviations may sound quite a mouthful to Bengalureans, but ask any of the food freaks in over 100 CAD(M) CAD(B) outlets around the country and they’ll swear that the mouthfuls just melt in their mouths in seconds.
Barely a week old on National High School Road close to Jain College, Pune’s famous CAD (M) CAD (B)’s thick shakes are already a rage among customers. “They are basically thick shakes and come in a range of flavours. They are neither a sip nor a bite but something in between. The key is a secret ingredient that comes all the way from Pune,” says Kiran Bardia, who launched the café last Sunday with Madhubala N.
Kiran says it’s this ingredient that gives the shakes the consistency. Besides, the staff are put through a training module at Pune, where they’re taught to bring out the flavour and consistency. “Try the shake today and try it a week later and you’ll find no difference in quality. And it’s the same for each of the 100 outlets across India,” adds Madhubala.
Madhubala says she’s not daunted by the cluster of eateries in VV Puram and says CAD (M) CAD (B)’s uniqueness and pricing set her outlet apart.
The CAD flavours, which are predominantly chocolate-based, include white, mint, mango, walnut, coconut, almond and Oreo ferrero, while other shakes include mango, chocolate, strawberry, black currant, butter scotch and a range of fruits and nuts. Kiran and Madhubala also offer the chocolate shot and the magic shot, besides chocolate fudge and variants of thick cold coffee. Another specialty they recommend is the mastani.
While the shakes are all offered under his CAD (M) CAD (B) franchise, Kiran and Madhubala, on their own, also dish out hot spicy snacks like a range of momos, sandwiches and burgers. The momos come in eight different variants like the veg steamed, veg fried, veg paneer fry, veg masala, paneer, paneer fried, paneer pan fry and paneer masala, while the sandwiches too come in eight flavours including veg grilled, paneer, coleslaw, cheese and chilli cheese.
CAD (M) CAD (B) is open seven days a week from 11 am to 11 pm.
