NCC Cadets Take Gender Sensitisation to Rural Chennai

CHENNAI: A gender sensitisation and equality workshop was conducted on February 28 by NCC cadets of Lalaji Memorial Omega International School at Cowl Bazar village.

The cadets paraded through the village to spread awareness about women’s right to education, empowerment and equality. A street play and a mime were performed, along with a speech. Students displayed placards with slogans on women’s safety and well-being in English, Hindi and Tamil. Kavitamani, HoD of Tamil, spoke to the villagers about gender equality.

Forty five cadets, associate NCC officer Vijayanath Yadav, the school’s assistant security officer and band master were present. Breakfast and refreshments were served to everyone.
