Government forms committee to frame guidelines for Rajyotsava awards

BENGALURU: The state government has constituted an expert committee headed by former Karnataka High Court judge Justice H N Nagamohan Das to frame guidelines for nomination of people for Kannada Rajyotsava awards.

The government gave this information to the High Court on Wednesday in response to a petition filed by poet and writer B V Satyanarayana Rao.

Rao has challenged the list of awardees for the year 2015 as his name was dropped from it despite a High Court order asking the government to consider his name for the award while disposing of his petition in 2014.

Justice Nazeer adjourned the hearing to August 22, asking petitioner’s counsel to submit suggestions, if any.
