BENGALURU: Software giant Oracle from the United States of America (USA) is establishing its largest software development centre outside the USA in Bengaluru.

The firm is investing Rs 2,448 crore on its centre which will employ nearly 10,000 professionals. The state high-powered committee headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will clear the company's proposal for the investment on Friday evening, said Karnataka Industries Minister RV Deshpande.

The firm has already acquired 13 acres land at Marathahalli on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) for the facility. The minister said the new facility will come up in the next three years.

"This will be the company's biggest facility outside California. Apart from 10,000 jobs at the development centre, it will also create several other jobs," he said.

Many big software firms are located on the ORR and the state government is taking several measures to ease traffic congestion, which is the biggest concern in that part of the city, he added.
