BENGALURU:  The High Court on Tuesday issued notices to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company and Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) following a petition seeking directions to provide water and electricity supply to the newly built houses.

The petitioner Nasser Aziz, a resident of Sanjay Nagar and two others have challenged the BBMP commissioner’s power to write letters asking BESCOM and BWSSB not to extend power and water supply to their buildings having violations of plan.

Hearing the petition, Justice Raghvendra Chauhan issued notice to authorities of BBMP, BESCOM and BWSSB.

The petitioners contended that they have built their houses in Jarakabande Kaval village in Bengaluru North taluk, after their building plan was sanctioned by the competent authorities.

However, the commissioner of BBMP, without having jurisdiction, asked the BESCOM and BWSSB not to supply power and water respectively to the houses.
