BENGALURU: Two miscreants on a bike attacked policemen attached to Puttenahalli Police Station with a dagger on Monday night when they tried to stop them during patrolling. The incident took place at 11.30 pm on Puttenhalli Lake Road. Police, who were patrolling the area following robbery complaints, had to fire two rounds to protect themselves from the miscreants.

According to Police, inspector Dharmendra and other personnel were on patrolling duty. Two persons came on a bike, which did not have any number plate. When the cops tried to stop them from knowing their whereabouts, the pillion rider attacked them with a dagger.

One of the cops narrowly escaped the attack. In return, Dharmendra fired a bullet in the air and another one at a miscreant. Police believe one of the miscreants was also injured.
