BENGALURU: A 28-year-old woman has filed a police complaint against her husband, accusing him of infecting her with a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD). The Jeevan Bima Nagar police have asked her to furnish medical reports to substantiate her allegation.

Kalpana (name changed), a law graduate, has filed a complaint of dowry harassment and domestic violence against her husband and his family members. She also accused him of having illicit affairs with other women infected with STD, which was passed on to her.

“I became pregnant in 2017, but my husband objected to this. When I was alone at home, he pushed me hard under the cot, due to which I had a miscarriage. After this, I slipped into depression and was hospitalised. Meanwhile, my husband was in physical relationships with other women. I had returned to him after a few days. Later, when I went to a doctor, I was told that I had STD. When I discussed this with my husband and in-laws, they harassed me physically and mentally,” she stated in her complaint.
A police officer said the complaint was registered on Wednesday and summons were sent to her husband.
