A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to lifetime imprisonment, by a trail court, for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl after kidnapping her.

BENGALURU: A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to lifetime imprisonment, by a trail court, for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl after kidnapping her. The incident was reported in DJ Halli police station limits in March 2017. The accused Pubadhi alias Magendra, a resident of AK Colony, was nabbed in Chennai.

A senior police officer said that Pubadhi had kidnapped the girl and had taken her to a lodge, where he sexually assaulted her for three days. The parents of the victim had approached the police who had then booked him under the stringent clauses of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.   The judge sentenced Pubadhi for life time imprisonment and levied a fine of `50,000.
