Cyber police book X account over objectionable post on incident at college linked to HM G Parameshwara

The post was about the incident where an assistant professor of the microbiology department proposed a student in the classroom, resulting in an FIR.

BENGALURU: The City’s Cyber Crime Police registered a suo motu case against the post on ‘@sabhyastha (Hindu Jagritanagu)’ X account, regarding a controversial incident that took place at a medical college in T Begur in Nelamangala Taluk, belonging to Home Minister G Parameshwara.

The case was registered under section 299 of BNS (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) and also under the IT act.

The post was about the incident where an assistant professor of the microbiology department proposed a student in the classroom, resulting in an FIR. The cyber police registered the case regarding an objectionable post made linking the Home Minister.

Assistant prof Dr Abdul Rehaman Sharif had proposed a student at Sri Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, leading to an FIR against him following a complaint from the college principal Dr SV Divakar on March 26. The principal stated that a few students complained against Abdul, accusing him of sexual harassment and bad conduct.
