16 bus routes to change from Monday

Sixteen MTC bus routes will be changed from Monday following the opening of the G N Chetty road flyover.

CHENNAI: Sixteen MTC bus routes will be changed from Monday following the opening of the G N Chetty road flyover.

Routes 12, M12A, 12B and 12BExtn., instead of going all the way through Thyagaraya road on the way to T Nagar and Vadapalani from Eldams road, will now take Dr Nair road, Bazullah road and Usman road flyover to North Usman road and then follow the regular route.

Route 12G will be diverted from Thyagaraya road to Anna Salai up to Anna Arivalayam, from where it will turn at Vijaragavachari road and again turn at Dr Nair road junction towards Vani Mahal. At Vani Mahal it will enter G N Chetty road and proceed to Panagal park from where it will resume the usual route.

Route 12C towards K K Nagar, instead of turning left after SIET college will proceed straight to Anna Arivalayam and follow the 12G route up to Panagal park. From there it will resume the usual route. The same route towards Mylapore will go through Duraisamy under-bridge, Panagal park, Pondy bazaar, Thyagaraya road and Anna Salai, from where it will follow the usual route.

Routes M11A, 11G, 11H will turn into Vijayaragavachari road from Anna Arivalayam, from where it will follow the routes for 12G and 12C up to Panagal park and then follow the usual route. Routes 11A, 13B, 29B and 29N will follow the above route up to Vani Mahal from where it will enter Tirumalaipillai road and take Panagal par k flyover to T Nagar bus terminus.

Routes 11, 13 and 13A will take the service lane near the new G N Chetty road flyover after Sun theatre, towards Tirumalaipillai road from where it will turn into Bazullah road and then again onto Usam road flyover towards the T Nagar bus terminus. These same routes while travelling towards Parrys corner, will use the new G N Chetty road flyover, after Panagal park.
