CHENNAI: Actor Kamal Haasan on Monday launched shooting for Abirami, a mega serial featuring actress Gouthami as the protagonist. Directed by Madhivannan and Nandakumar, the serial is being made under the banner of Abirami Megaserial Division.
The serial, which will be telecast on Kalaignar TV from January next, will focus on the social evils that the protagonist encounters in society by virtue of being a woman.
Kutty Padmini is the creative head of this venture that has been scripted by Kaalachakkaram Narasimha.
Unlike other mega serials, Abirami has been scripted with a lot of research and will be fast paced and shot in outdoor locations, explained scriptwriter Narasimha.
