AT first look the paintings may appear a little intricate but the artist has rightly conveyed his messages through this expo at Sri Parvathy Art Gallery.

This is artist Sudish Kandampully’s first solo exhibition in Chennai, and his paintings speak volumes about his hardwork. Of nature and human beings, the paintings are cast in negative colour, but Sudish has included patches of normal, positive colours in every painting to highlight the image.

“At present, my style of paintings is like this but it might change in the future,” says the artist, who is quite upset, as there’s no proper response from the Chennaiites; usually his paintings attract huge crowds in Kerala.

Earlier, danseuse Gopika Varma inaugurated the expo, and it is on till November 24.
