Sanobar tied the knot with AK Tareen 18 years ago. “It was an arranged marriage but by the time our wedding day arrived, we were madly in love with each other,” she beams.
She admits that initially, it was slightly challenging for her to get used to Tareen’s frequent traveling and busy schedule. But Sanobar has given the family her best. Tareen too, admits that he cannot have her away even for a couple of days “She has brought in perfect balance and stability to the family. Though she was a gold medallist in engineering, she gave it all up to take care of our family and let me focus on my work. She is my strength and my strategy,” he says.
Says Sanobar, “My kids and I know when he’s stressed with work and make the ambience at home just right for him to relax and focus. He is a perfectionist and we do all that we can to keep him happy and calm,” she says.
“Both Tareen and I have reached a point in life where we understand our needs without even speaking out about them. We have learnt that a calm mind and unconditional love will make a relationship successful.”
Despite being a constant fixture in the social scene, it’s his wife who is the true style icon with a subtle fashion sense and a great personality and has the knack to pick out the perfect attire for her hubby too.
Vandana W/o Srikanth, Actor
You can spot them together at any film premiere. As a couple, Vandana and Srikanth are noticed anywhere they go. Says Vandana, “It’s an honour being a star’s wife. When I go along with Srikanth, people notice and recognize me and that’s a nice feeling. But, you’re always in the limelight. I sometimes feel that our privacy is lost.” But she feels people in Tamil Nadu are friendly and respect a star’s privacy.
“I always knew Srikanth was a chocolate boy and that he has a huge fan following, especially among girls. His fans are very friendly,” says Vandana. “After the birth of our baby, I have stopped travelling with him, but Srikanth balances both professional and personal life well,” says the perfect homemaker.
“I don’t tell him about the minor problems in our family,” says Vandana. She helps Srikanth with his diet plan and motivates him to workout properly. “Also, Srikanth makes sure that he spends the day with us on special occasions. He can’t miss our son Aahil’s birthday (Aahil turns one in February) because both father and son celebrate their birthdays on the same day - February 28,” she says.
Rukmani Srinivasan

One look at Rukmani Srinivasan and you know she is the epitome of kindness and humility. Talking to her only reinforces your belief. “I cannot say I have done too much for JS (her husband). All I have done is looked after the family while he was busy at work,” she says.
Her husband disagrees vehemently. “She has devoted herself to the family when in fact she could have chosen to pursue a career. It is only now after the kids have grown up that she is spending time helping at a charitable trust. One thing I will never forget is the way she took care of my mother,” says her husband.
So does her husband consult her before taking important decisions? “Sure. He always tells me before making any major career move,” she says. He is also a very thoughtful husband, she claims. “He always buys me something whenever he goes on tours.”
As a wife of a top-ranking official, what are her duties? “Whenever we have foreign visitors, the wives are expected to take them for lunch, sight-seeing etc.,” she says. “And for my hubby, I have my own power breakfast that will pep him up for that long, morning meeting — a bowl of fruits, oats and fresh juices.”
