CHENNAI: Any beauty pageant is usually about curvy shapes and catwalks. But, here’s a reality show on Jaya TV, which is on air for last six years, that makes a tough competition among married women to be chosen as the best homemaker.

Organised by the Twilite Corpos Event Management Team, Mrs. Homemaker is a platform for housewives to showcase their hidden skills and talents and emerge the best amongst others to win the coveted Mrs. Homemaker title for the year.

The finale of Mrs. Homemaker 2010 was held at the Kamarajar Arangam, where 12 finalists performed dance and music and walked the ramp to be judged. Six of them were short listed for the Q&A session and most of them answered women should be financially secure and independent in 20 years time, when asked what the significant change they want to see women’s life in future.

The show grooms a bunch of women for two and half months in various fields and give them back to the society. There were several other categories of awards such as cookery, crafts, adventure and sports, beach sports, attire etc.

The ultimate title was bagged by Krithika who bagged an award in each of the above mentioned categories. The first runner up was Aruna, a TV personality and actress and the second runner up was Geeta.

The judges for the evening were popular television news presenter Fathima Babu (2008 Mrs. Homemaker title winner), Sujata Panju and city’s popular choreographer John Britto. Singer Srilekha Parthasarathy was the special guest for the event, whilst Navarasa Nayagan Karthik was the chief guest for the evening. Singer Mahathi and entrepreneur Divya Siddharth also presided over the event.
