Kamala Sadagopan passes away at 77

Novelist and journalist Kamala Sadagopan passed away on Wednesday. She was aged 77.

Kamala is the wife of screenplay writer and director Chitralaya Gopu. She was admitted to a hospital following brain haemorrhage.

Several film personalities attended her funeral at the Besant Nagar crematorium on the same day. She is survived by her husband and sons.

Conveying her condolences, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, in a message to Kamala’s son T A Narasimhan, deputy editor of The Hindu, said, “I pray that the Almighty may give you and your family the strength and fortitude to withstand this personal sorrow.”
