Young scientists honoured at expo

The Organisation of Muslim Educational Institutions and Associations of Tamil Nadu, (OMEIAT), organised the Southern Regional OMEIAT science fair, jointly with the JBAS Memorial Matriculation Higher Secondary Boys School and Fathima Basheer Matriculation Higher Secondary School for Girls, on  January 12, at the auditorium of J B A S College for Women.

Chief guest P Iyamperumal, executive director, Department of Science and Technology, inaugurated the programme and Meha Jabeen, Coordinator, SIET Dyslexia Centre, welcomed the gathering.

Several students, parents and public visited the fair and viewed the projects on display.

P Siva Kumar, director, Combat Vehicles R&D Establishment, Ministry of Defence, presented the valedictory address. Moosa Raza, Chairman, SIET and former Chief Secretary, J&K, presided over the science fair.

OMEIAT president U Md Khalilullah, felicitated the chief guest. Sivakumar also conferred awards and prizes to the winners. Budding Scientist Award, Emerging Scientist Award, Junior Scientist Award’, and Young Scientist Award, were some of the categories on which the awards were presented.

Talat Fathima Imam, Principal, JBAS Memorial Matriculation Higher Secondary Boys School and the organising secretary of the Southern Regional OMEIAT Science Fair, proposed the vote of thanks and concluded the programme.
