Preparation for competitive examinations such as the JEE too can be of help in tackling the CBSE examinations say Class XII board toppers.

Nithin Siyon Ramesan, a   student of Chettinad Vidyashram, scored 492. He says that his standard XII syllabus didn’t seem difficult after tackling JEE problems, which boosted his confidence. “Writing subjective answers was my biggest worry, since the JEE comprises objective questions. Paying attention to the revision exams also helped me”

This isn’t the first time Nithin is figuring in an elite few - he had scored 326 out of 340 in the JEE (Mains), coming among the nation’s top ten. Nithin says he will pursue BE in computer science. “The aspiration is not guided by my father being a software engineer. I was drawn naturally to C++ programming; it is only natural that I pursue it,” he said.

With her score of 493 in the commerce stream, Padmini Muralidhar of DAV Girls Senior Secondary School, Gopalapuram, is glad that she would be bettering the tally of last year’s topper of her school. With her family on father’s side largely comprising chartered accountants, she feels she too will pursue CA. “I will pursue my B Com at a regular college, alongside my CA (Inter), following which I plan to do my internship and CA (final),” she remarks.
