The new model, which is part of Bajaj’s plan to revamp the Discover brand, will feature in the middle range of the 100cc mileage bikes segment.

Speaking at the launch, K Srinivas, head of motorcycles division of Bajaj Motors, said “We had planned to bring in a total of six new variants of the Discover model, of which we have already unveiled four. Through this, we will tap the entire mileage segment called the M2 segment, in which we had only two models earlier.” He further explained that the previous variants in the segment, Discover 100 4G and Discover 100T, were placed at the two extremes of the price curve in the 100CC segment and that the new Discover 100M will be placed right at the middle.

He explained that the USP of the Discover brand was the fact that it brought high-end features to the mileage market. He said, “Our competitors, when it comes to mileage market, only provide basic features. We have brought high-end features such as alloys, disc brakes, nitrox suspension and electric start to the segment through this bike.”

Speaking about the technology that the new bike was built upon, Srinivas said, “The bike boasts of a four-valve DTSi engine which has been patented by Bajaj. 100M is the first model to have it.” He added, “Apart from this, the new bike provides a power of 9.3 ps, which is a lot more than the other versions from our competitors. It also has a top speed of 95 kilometers.”

After unveiling the bike, Srinivas said that the bike will be priced at Rs 47, 405 and will give a mileage of close to 85 kilometre per litre.
