Bizman Says Wife, Girl Abducted

CHENNAI: Madras High Court on Thursday ordered notice on a Habeas Corpus Petition from a businessman seeking to produce his ‘kidnapped’ 28-year-old wife and 5-year-old daughter and set them at liberty.

In his petition, Velivela Rakesh of Kodambakkam, alleged that his wife Sowmya and daughter Naisha were kidnapped by one  Vetri Duraisamy of CIT Nagar, who is politically influential. Hearing the petition, a Division Bench of Justices S Tamilvanan and T Mathivanan ordered notice to the authorities concerned returnable by December 22. According to petitioner, Sowmya became friendly with Duraisamy who had kidnapped  both.
